Two reasons why people moving to a new place within their current town should hire local removalists

Here are two reasons why people who'll be moving to a new home within their current town should hire local removals businesses, instead of ones that are based elsewhere.
A local removalist will be knowledgeable about the town
One reason why a person should take this advice is that a local removalist will be knowledgeable about the town, in a way that a removalist that's based elsewhere could not be. Their familiarity with the area could prevent a client's house move from being delayed or disrupted. For example, a removalist who has worked with dozens of clients within a certain town will be familiar with the parking restrictions in certain areas of it. This means they won't make the mistake of assuming they can park their vehicle on a street near their client's home, and then find themselves having to park much farther away than planned.
Likewise, because a local removalist will have taken many trips around the town whilst transporting their clients' belongings, they'll also know what size moving van they can use when travelling on certain routes. For instance, if one route through the town features a low bridge and a very narrow road, a local removalist will know that they won't be able to use their tallest, widest moving truck if they have to travel on that route to reach a specific client's property. A removalist who has only visited the town once or twice might not know this, and could then get their large moving vehicle stuck whilst attempting to drive it on this route.
A local removalist can provide better customer service
Another reason people in this situation should hire local removal companies is that a local removalist will be able to provide a higher level of customer service than one based in a different location. For example, because a local removalist will be in closer physical proximity to their client, they can, if necessary, visit that person's current or new home more than once when planning the move.
They could, for instance, make a second trip to the client's current home if the client informs them that the apartment building's lift is no longer working, and they need to find an alternative way to transport their furniture that's too big to be carried down the stairwell. During this second visit, the removalist might measure the apartment's windows and determine if they could lift the furniture out of the building via these windows and then lower it onto the ground with a hoist system. If the removalist were based much farther away from the client's property, they might not be able to travel to see the property again and might, therefore, have a harder time coming up with a new plan to move the furniture.
